Bloordale’s Bantam Select team has done it again winning Oakville’s inaugural Canada Day Classic capitalizing on strong pitching performances and some key run production when it counted. Bloordale Baseball has frozen its fees for 2012 Season while investing in new House League equipment, playing field improvements,  marketing initiatives, and increased professional training clinics  for players, coaches and umpires. Bloordale’s executive approved the nearly $80,000 operating budget last night, setting the stage for the 2012 season of play. This year Bloordale will be operating house league teams in TBall, Rookieball, Mosquito, PeeWee and Bantam divisions and a ladies’ SloPitch league. Dave Lauzon touched hundreds of baseball families in Bloordale, Etobicoke and Toronto. He served his community not only as a coach but also on the executives of Bloordale, Etobicoke and Toronto serving as President for many years on all three of the associations. Dave passed away on the morning of September 7, 2011 following a lengthy illness but his contribution to the baseball community will live on forever.
