New Umpires

All new Umpires must complete the Umpire Registration form (below). Failure to do that may mean you will not get on our Umpire Roster or receive communications.

In the registration number box, put “Completed” or “Pending” if you do not have a number yet.

Becoming An Umpire

Thank you for your interest in umpiring for Bloordale Baseball

Please read this carefully; it will provide a seamless path to getting on our Bloordale Umpire Roster.

All umpires are required to successfully complete the training offered through the Ontario Baseball Association. Information on the clinics can be found at www.playoba.ca. It is preferable that you attend the Etobicoke Clinic when offered, but you can attend any clinic for your level. Bloordale is not involved with the OBA certification process and any questions about this need to be directed to them. Please be aware that you must maintain annual registration, or you will lose a level.

Once you have successfully completed the training, you MUST complete the Umpire Registration Form (below). You will be added to our 2024 House League umpire roster, and will receive a Welcome/Confirmation email from me with more information.

The season starts in May. In preparation for this position, you will need an Umpire Kit – which has a clicker, brush, and ball bag. You also need a watch – the use of a phone on the field is not permitted.

House League umpires wear a Navy Umpire Shirt, Navy or Black cap, Grey pants (not sweats), and dark shoes. Please purchase early – the local stores run out of Navy Shirts very quickly. It MUST be Navy.

Bloordale provides safety equipment.
