The Exec Director of Baseball Ontario hit the ball out the park when she said Volunteers are the most valuable asset we have. Bloordale President Patrick McConnell could not agree more. We have some of THE best volunteers around. While OBA is focused on higher level baseball, Bloordale’s solid house league and select program feeds the AA and AAA program. Every elite player starts in House League and has a volunteer house league coach to thank for getting them started. I am always reminded of Joey Votto, the National League MVP for 2010 saying his greatest baseball memory was playing for Bloordale Select and beating Martingrove for the City Championship. And to this day , that major league All Star first baseman thanks by name his local league coaches for getting him where he is today.
