Major Mosquito Select finishes top 3 in West Toronto Playoffs

by | Aug 23, 2011

Bloordale’s Major Mosquito Select team finished in the top three during last weekend’s Toronto West championship. Head coach Brian Moore reports the team was on a roll, up 10-2 after three innings, during a semi-final game against Martingrove (Major team). Unfortunately the skies opened up, washing out games for the day. Both teams came back to finish the game on Monday but by then, Bloordale had lost its momentum and unfortunately came up just short at the end of the day. Martingrove went on to win the championship, mercying Weston over four innings.
Coach Brian has a great deal of praise for the Minor Mosquito Select team which was also playing in the same tournament. The two Bloordale teams played a gem of a game that went into extra innings with the Majors winning out over their young brothers in the end.
Congrats to both Mosquito teams on a great season.
Keep your eyes open for the dates of Bloordale’s Select Team tryouts. The dates, likely in mid september, will be posted on the Bloordale website.
