Blue Jay fans who remember our back-to-back World Series wins of 1992 and 1993 will fondly recall center fielder Devon White, who batted lead-off and played center field as gracefully as any Jay ever has.
Longtime Bloordale coach Craig Christie is organizing a bus trip to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame on June 20 to see Devon White inducted. Devon is the first Jamaican-born player to receive this honour. The attached poster contains additional information, including booking for the coach bus at $75/person.
As Craig explains:
I am working with Leon Taylor who has been given the mandate by Little League Baseball America to get baseball started in Jamaica. When I was in Jamaica last year I ran a practice. The organization has received coaching from a New York Yankee coach who has Jamaican roots, and is really looking to grow the game.

Congratulations Devon for this great achievement, and thank you to Craig for supporting this initiative.
